In 2009 our office raised a total of $1,575 for our local charity, Alyssa's Hike for the Hearts, and $1,575 for Smiles for Life, who works with Garth Brooks and his foundation Teammates for Kids.

2009 is the 12th year nationally for the Smiles for Life campaign. In those 12 years dentists across the country have raised over $25,000,000 for children charities!!!!
How does Smiles for Life work??
Discuss Dental donates the bleaching material to Crown Council dentists, like Dr. Anthony Caruso. He in turn donates his chair side time and impression material used for the bleaching trays. Patients then get the opportunity to bleach their teeth at a reduced rate and all the money goes straight to children charities. All dontations are tax deductible.
Half of the money raised goes back to Smiles for Life who works with Garth Brooks and his foundation Teammates for Kids. The other half of the money goes to a local charity.
This year's local charity is Alyssa's Hike for the Hearts. Alyssa Calaway passed away in 2002 at the age of eight from Viral Myocarditis. This foundation raises money for research and education. 100% of all net proceeds they raise will go to The Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital Viral Myocarditis research and "The Alyssa Ann Calaway Campership fund" at the Chapel, in Akron respectively.
